Sullivan from the ACT commenced building
a Chesapeake Light Craft ' Chester Yawl'
in early 2006. A few months later we
were invited to the launching at Lake
Burley Griffin. It was a perfect winters
days and with a group of around 20
family and friends Les launched his boat
with all the fanfare, pomp &
ceremony befitting a launch. Even the
'Queen' was there to christen the boat
and bless the crew..
Below are
some photos of the launch day. The
Chester Yawl rowed beautifully even with
4 adults aboard, albeit a little slower.
Les is very happy with the ease at which
she rows. The Chester yawl glides along effortlessly
and is perfect for that Sunday afternoon
row on the lake or river. Pack a picnic
and row to your favourite spot.
