Just prior to Xmas 2006 we completed a Chesapeake 17 kayak for Paul Connor, Sydney. Paul originally purchased a CH17 kit over 2 years ago, and due to business and family commitments Paul never found the time to undertake the build. Paul approached Capeboatworks to build the Chesapeake 17 for him.

Paul's only specification was that the Deck be painted for visibility on busy Sydney Harbour. Paul didn't want to be run over by one of the harbour ferries etc.

The deck was painted in 2pack Norglass. Colour Pearl. Three coats of Norglass 2pack undercoat were applied with 3 topcoats.

The hull was epoxy coated and then 6 coats of Norglass 2pack Varnish were applied.

As usual, we were too busy to take photos of the build. Truth is, I always forget to bring the camera.

We added a Mahogany Rubbing Strip to the kayak as can be seen from the photos.

Received 6 coats of varnish. Looking good.
